NEWS:
Third Annual BASTILLE DAY CELEBRATION BLOCK PARTY!
Saturday, July 11 at N. Failing St (between N. Williams Ave. and N. Vancouver Ave.)
BRING A FOOD DONATION! For EVERY nonperishable food item donated guests will receive a raffle ticket and the chance to win one of 100+ Portland Restaurant gift certificates! Must be present to win.

This year we have an extra special theme…
Gastronomical Oregon (Just as good as France!)
France. Just like how visions of sugar plums dance through your head at Christmas, when you think of France you can’t help but envision Camembert, warm crusty baguettes, Chateauneuf du Pape, foie gras, escargot, Cognac, dark chocolate…need I go on? These days, many of us are struggling to find the extra cash to go to a French restaurant, more or less France itself. So, Pix is keeping it local this Bastille Day featuring the gastronomical treasures of Portland! Turns out we Oregonians seem to like a lot of the same things those fun loving Frenchies do. You like the oysters? Try some Kumomotos. Cheese? Rogue River Blue or Juniper Grove Chevre will surely hit the spot. Pinot Noir? Where do we start!? And that crusty Baguette? Try Ken’s or Little T’s. You won’t be disappointed. (Oh, and there are a few good patisseries in town as well!) So, without further adieu… I introduce the 2009 Pix Bastille Day Celebration Block Party! (throw confetti now)
This year we are supporting the Oregon Food Bank to help feed our local community. For every nonperishable food item donated guests will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win gift certificates to some of Portland’s best restaurants as well as culinary delights made right here in Oregon!

Schedule of Events:
11AM – Mini Médoc Marathon Fun Run

The Médoc Marathon is a 26.2 mile race that winds through over 50 chateaux in the famous wine region of Bordeaux. You may drink water if you like, but there are also 22 “degustation” sites where you are encouraged to partake in local wine tastings of Grand Cru vineyards. Pix is holding a Mini Médoc Marathon! During this 5K course through N/NE Portland runners will have the opportunity to sample some delicious Oregon wines. Unlike the Médoc Marathon, we are unable to give the winner their weight in wine at the finish. However, prizes will be marked on the bottom of random glasses at the tasting sights. And like the Médoc marathon dressing in costume is a must! Best costume wins $100 Pix Gift Certificate.
$5 Entry Fee with 1 nonperishable food item (All entry fees will be donated to Oregon Food Bank); Runners must be 21+
